India celebrating centenary anniversary of it National song "vande mataram" amidst many muslim groups opposing to sing this song on reason that Islam does not permit a muslim to pray anyone but only Allah.
"vande mataram" originally composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1876 and later used in his novel "Anandmath" in 1882. Later in 1936 Indian national congress accepted its first two stanza as national song and avoided rest. these two stanza describe only the beauty of motherland and does not have any depiction of the nation as "Maa Durga"a Hindu goddess. for me religious orientation of this song doesnt matter, whats imposrtant is that people from all religion sung this and gave their life for the nation. That alone makes it a song for all indian. this song was also voted second most popular song in world.
